Professional Writing

I currently write monthly blogs for Disney Meetings & Events to inspire event planners to plan their next meeting or event at Disney. I plan these posts based on current trends in the industry, popular themes at our events, and conversations across the business. I aim to capture a professional and insightful tone while also encouraging aspirational ideas.

During my time at French/West/Vaughan as a Public Relations intern, I wrote blog posts for the Wilmington and Beaches CVB official sites. These consisted of travel itineraries, suggestions of activities, and other travel lifestyle content.  Each of these articles were shared on their social media, which has a net audience of about 200k followers.

I also contributed to writing this blog post for another client, the North Carolina Sweetpotato Commission.

As a development intern at North Carolina Theatre, I assisted with donor communications.  This is a sample of an email that was ultimately sent out to their donor list after a very successful conservatory production.

The following is a survey that I created for the Backer's Club, a special group of donors who are invited to exclusive pre-show events throughout the season.  I created the survey to assess what was most important to the donor, and how we could improve our service, while emphasizing their importance to the non-profit.

Press Releases

I have written a variety of press releases for the Durham Performing Arts Center, Appalachian State University Department of Theatre and Dance, and coursework. I extensively research the artist or presenter, interview the featured person if necessary, and follow traditional AP Style structure in order to create an effective press release that gives the reader pertinent information on the event.

The following are collaborative press releases produced in my Arts Management course in order to inform the Boone, NC community of upcoming performances at ASU.  These were also printed in the Mountain Times newspaper.

BroadwayWorld Reviews & Blogs

I am very passionate about theatre and writing.  When I was offered the opportunity to be a critic for BroadwayWorld, the world's largest online source for Broadway, Off-Broadway, and regional theatre news, I was ecstatic!  I grew up reading BroadwayWorld articles.  While spending the summer interning at Capacity Interactive in New York City, I spent my free time attending off-off-Broadway shows and publishing reviews.

I also served as a student blogger for BroadwayWorld, writing articles offering tips to other students, covering current issues in the arts, and providing event coverage.
